Sam Gilliam (1933-2022) was one of the great innovators of postwar American art. The Sam Gilliam Catalogue Raisonné project will span the six decades of Gilliam’s career in all media, from his earliest work leading to his hard-edge paintings of the 1960s, through his beveled-edge paintings and canonical drape paintings, to his later experiments in form through sculpture, watercolor, and painting.

The publication is produced with the full collaboration of the Sam Gilliam Studio in cooperation with David Kordansky Gallery and Pace Gallery. It will be published by Cahiers d’Art Institute using its patented software platform. Research on this project is ongoing, with more details to be announced.
