In conjunction with Close's recent solo exhibition, Chuck Close: Face Forward, at the Schneider Museum of Art, Carina Evangelista, Editor of the Chuck Close Catalogue Raisonné, presents a talk at the museum, providing an overview of Close's body of work and tracking the artist's abiding commitment to the human face, the grid as an invisible or overt scaffolding for his works, and the various methods and mediums he has explored in creating portraits from photographs that reveal an equally rigorous commitment to experimentation.
